What is the Delhi Police Driver Salary 2025? (In-Hand Estimate)
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-3 with a pay scale of ₹21,700 - ₹69,100. This is a Group 'C' post.
How Much is the In-hand Salary?
Your starting Basic Pay will be ₹21,700 per month. In addition to this, you will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TPA), and Ration money, which are high for a posting in Delhi. After all allowances, your gross salary will be over ₹43,000. After standard deductions, you can expect an estimated in-hand salary of approximately ₹39,000 to ₹41,000 per month.
How to Get Bonus Marks in the Exam (NCC & RRU)
You can get an advantage in the final merit list if you have an NCC or RRU certificate. These bonus marks are added to your normalized score from the Computer Based Exam.
- NCC Certificate Holders: 5% for 'C' Certificate, 3% for 'B' Certificate, and 2% for 'A' Certificate.
- Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) Graduates: 5% for Distinction, 4% for First Class, 3% for Second Class, and 2% for Pass Class in your Degree/PG Diploma.
Who Can Apply for the SSC Driver Vacancy 2025?
Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025)
The age of the candidate should be between 21 and 30 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02-07-1995 and not later than 01-07-2004. Age relaxation for reserved categories is applicable as per government norms.
Essential Qualification (as on 15.10.2025)
Candidates must meet all the following criteria:
- Education: Must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognized Board.
- Driving License: Must possess a valid driving license for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV). Please note that a Learner's license is not acceptable.

Delhi Police Driver Selection Process 2025
The selection process will consist of the following stages. The final merit list will be based on the marks from the Computer Based Exam.
- Computer Based Examination (CBE): An online objective test for 100 marks.
- Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT): This is qualifying in nature.
- Trade Test (Driving Skill Test): This is a comprehensive driving test of 150 marks, but it is also qualifying in nature.

Shortlisting for Delhi Police Driver Physical Test (20x Rule)
After the computer-based exam, candidates will be shortlisted for the PE&MT. The number of candidates called for the physical test will be 20 times the number of vacancies in each category, based on their merit in the CBE. This gives you a clear idea of the competition for the next stage.

Trade Test (Driving Test) Details
Understanding the Trade Test (Qualifying Nature)
Candidates who qualify the PE&MT will be called for the Trade Test. This is a practical test of your driving and vehicle knowledge. It is qualifying in nature, meaning the 150 marks are not added to your final merit. However, you must pass each component to be eligible for final selection.
- Driving (LMV & HMV): 100 Marks (50 qualifying)
- Knowledge of Traffic Signs & Rules: 25 Marks (12.5 qualifying)
- Knowledge of Vehicle Maintenance: 25 Marks (12.5 qualifying)
Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBE
To be considered for the shortlist for the PE&MT stage, candidates must score the following minimum marks in the Computer Based Exam:
- General / EWS: 40%
- SC / ST / OBC: 35%
- Ex-Servicemen: 30%
What Happens in Case of a Tie? (Tie-Breaking Rule)
If two or more candidates score the same marks in the CBE, the tie will be resolved by giving preference to the candidate who is older in age. If the tie still persists, it will be resolved by alphabetical order of the first name.

Physical Endurance Test (Qualifying)
Candidates who are shortlisted after the computer exam will have to undergo the Physical Endurance Test, which is qualifying in nature. The standards are as follows:

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Candidates who qualify the endurance test will undergo the physical measurement test.
- Height: Minimum 170 cm (relaxable by 5 cm for residents of Hill areas, ST candidates, and sons of Delhi Police personnel).
- Chest: Minimum 81-85 cm (with a minimum 4 cm expansion). This is also relaxable by 5 cm for the same categories.
How to Apply Online
The application must be submitted online through the new official website of SSC.
- One-Time Registration (OTR): First, complete your OTR on the new SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in.
- Live Photo Capture: During the application, you must capture a live photograph using a webcam or smartphone. Old photos cannot be uploaded.
- Fill the Application Form: Log in and fill out the application for the 'Constable (Driver)-Male in Delhi Police Examination, 2025'.
- Upload Signature: Upload a scanned copy of your signature (10 to 20 KB).
