Who Can Apply for the DSSSB Teacher Vacancy 2025?
Please make sure you meet all the eligibility criteria as of the last date of application (07/11/2025).
General Eligibility for all TGT Posts
- Educational Qualification: You need three things:
- A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks.
- A B.Ed Degree (Degree in Education).
- You must have qualified the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper-II, conducted by CBSE.
- Age Limit: The upper age limit for TGT posts is 30 years. Age relaxation for reserved categories is applicable as per government norms.
Important: Check Your Subject Combination Carefully
Your eligibility for posts like TGT (Social Science) and TGT (Natural Science) depends heavily on the specific subjects you studied during your graduation. For example, for TGT (Social Science), you must have studied at least one of the core subjects (History, Political Science, etc.) for a specific duration. Please read the official notification very carefully to ensure your graduation subjects make you eligible for the post you are applying for.
Special Age Relaxations You Should Know
- For Women Candidates: A general age relaxation of 10 years is available for women applying for the post of Special Education Teacher.
- For Contractual Employees: If you are a contractual employee working in the same department (Directorate of Education), you are eligible for a one-time age relaxation. The relaxation is equal to the time you have worked, up to a maximum of 5 years, provided you have worked for at least 120 days in a particular academic year.
A Crucial Note on OBC Reservation ❗️
Please remember that the benefit of reservation and age relaxation under the OBC category is strictly available only for candidates who have an OBC (Delhi) certificate. Candidates with OBC certificates issued by other states will be treated as Unreserved (UR) category candidates, and they must apply under the UR category.
DSSSB TGT Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The selection will be made through a One-Tier Written Examination. The exam will be for a total of 200 marks and will have a duration of 2 hours. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Part | Subject | Questions | Marks |
---|---|---|---|
Section A | General Awareness | 20 | 20 |
General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability | 20 | 20 | |
Arithmetical & Numerical Ability | 20 | 20 | |
Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension | 20 | 20 | |
Test of English Language & Comprehension | 20 | 20 | |
Section B | MCQs of the subject concerned (including questions on teaching methodology/B.Ed.) | 100 | 100 |
Total | 200 | 200 |
Understanding the Qualifying Marks in the Exam
This is a very important rule to understand. Your final selection depends on the combined marks of both Section A and Section B, but there's a specific qualifying rule:
- There are no minimum qualifying marks for Section A (the general paper).
- You must score the minimum qualifying marks (e.g., 40% for General, 35% for OBC, etc.) in Section B (the subject-specific paper).
- Even if your total score is high, if you fail to score the minimum marks in Section B, you will not be considered for the merit list.
What Happens in Case of a Tie? (The Official Tie-Breaking Rule)
If two or more candidates score the same total marks, DSSSB will use the following method to determine who gets a higher rank in the merit list:
- The candidate who scored more marks in Section B (the subject-specific paper) will be ranked higher.
- If the marks in Section B are also equal, the candidate who is senior in age will be given preference.
- If the age is also the same, the candidate whose name appears first in alphabetical order (A-Z) will be ranked higher.
What is the Application Fee?
General, EWS & OBC Candidates | ₹100 |
Women, SC, ST, PwBD & Ex-Servicemen | No Fee (Exempted) |
