Salary and Pay Scale Details
Selected candidates will be placed in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC. The pay scale is ₹25,500 - ₹81,100. In addition, other allowances such as Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, HRA, and Transport Allowance will be admissible as per rules.
BSF HC (RO/RM) 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 23/09/2025)
- For General/UR: 18 to 25 years
- For OBC: 18 to 28 years
- For SC/ST: 18 to 30 years
Age Relaxation: Further age relaxation is applicable for Ex-Servicemen, BSF Departmental candidates, Government employees, and Widows/Divorced Women as per government norms.
Educational Qualification
- For HC (Radio Operator):
- 10+2 (Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) with an aggregate of 60% marks. OR
- Matriculation (10th) with a two-year ITI certificate in Radio & TV / Electronics Engineering or related fields.
- For HC (Radio Mechanic):
- 10+2 (Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) with an aggregate of 60% marks. OR
- Matriculation (10th) with a two-year ITI certificate in Radio & TV / General Electronics / Electrician / Fitter or related fields.
Application Fee
- Fee for General, OBC, and EWS (Male) Candidates: ₹100/-
- Fee Exemption: No fee is required for SC, ST, BSF Departmental candidates, Ex-Servicemen, and all Female candidates.
- Service Charge: All candidates must pay a service charge of ₹50 + taxes (₹59) to the Common Service Centre (CSC).

The recruitment process will be conducted in three phases:
- First Phase: Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
- Second Phase: Written Examination (Computer Based Test - CBT).
- Third Phase: Document Verification, Dictation Test (for RO only), and Detailed Medical Examination (DME/RME).

Candidates applying for HC(RO) will also have to undergo a Dictation Test of 50 marks (minimum 150 words in English writing). This is a qualifying test.

- Syllabus Level: 10+2 (Intermediate) of CBSE/State Boards.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Qualifying Marks (CBT): 38% for General/OBC/EWS and 33% for SC/ST.
