Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Age Limit and Relaxation
- Age Bracket: Candidates must be between 21 to 25 years as of 01 July 2026.
- Date of Birth Block: Candidates must have been born between 01 July 2001 and 30 June 2005 (both dates inclusive).
- Age Relaxation: An upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates is applicable if posts are reserved for them.
Educational Qualification (for General Duty)
- Should hold a Graduate Degree from a recognised university.
- Must have studied Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or Class XII of the 10+2+3 scheme.
Educational Qualification (for Technical Branches)
- Should hold an Engineering Degree from a recognized university in specific disciplines (Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, etc.).
- Must have studied Mathematics and Physics up to Intermediate or Class XII.
Additional Eligibility Criteria
- Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this batch.

Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2025: Selection Process
The selection is a multi-stage process. Clearing each stage is mandatory.
Stage-I: Coast Guard Common Admission Test (CGCAT)
This is a computer-based online screening test comprising 100 multiple-choice questions with a duration of 2 hours. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

Stage-II: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)
Tests Conducted
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB)
Assessment Details
Candidates who clear Stage-II will undergo a Psychological Test, Group Task, and an Interview (Personality Test) over four/five days at the Coast Guard Selection Board, Noida.
Stage-IV: Medical Examination
Candidates who clear FSB will undergo a special medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi.
Stage-V: Induction
Candidates who clear all stages and are on the merit list will be provisionally selected for training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala.
Final Merit List
An All-India Merit List will be prepared based on the combined marks of Stage-I (CGCAT) and Stage-III (FSB).
