IOCL Apprentice 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 31.08.2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 24 Years
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates. PwBD candidates get a relaxation of up to 10 years.
Educational Qualifications by Post
Trade Apprentice
- Matriculation (10th) with a regular full-time 2-year ITI in the relevant trade (Fitter, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist) recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
Technician Apprentice
- 3-year regular full-time Diploma in the respective engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics) with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
Graduate Apprentice
- Regular full-time Graduate degree in any discipline (BBA/B.A/B.Com/B.Sc.) with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
General Eligibility and Disqualification Criteria
- Qualifications must be from a regular, full-time course. Distance learning or part-time modes are not eligible.
- Candidates with higher professional qualifications like B.E., MBA, MCA, etc., are NOT eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have previously undergone or are currently pursuing apprenticeship training are not eligible.
IOCL Apprentice 2025: Selection Methodology
This recruitment process is unique as it does not involve any competitive examination.
- Merit-Based Selection: The selection of candidates will be based on a merit list formed on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualification (ITI/Diploma/Graduation). There will be no written test or interview.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates from the merit list will be called for document verification.
- Pre-Engagement Medical Examination: Final engagement is subject to the candidate being declared medically fit as per IOCL's standards.
