Understanding the Different Apprentice Roles

💡 Which Apprentice Category is Right for You?

This recruitment is for three different types of apprentices based on your qualification:

  • Trade Apprentice: This is for candidates with an ITI certificate. You will receive hands-on technical training in your specific trade (like Fitter, Electrician) on the machinery and equipment at IOCL's plants and terminals.
  • Technician Apprentice: This is for candidates with a Diploma in Engineering. Your role will be more supervisory, involving maintenance schedules, technical operations, and assisting engineers.
  • Graduate Apprentice: This is for candidates with a non-technical Graduate degree (like B.A, B.Com, B.Sc). You will be trained in various non-technical departments like HR, Accounts, or Marketing.

Important Note: This is a one-year training program and does not guarantee a permanent job at IOCL.

Eligibility & Selection Process

Age Limit (as on 31.08.2025)

  • 18 to 24 years (with relaxation for reserved categories).

⚠️ Crucial Disqualification Clause

Candidates with higher professional qualifications like B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, etc., are NOT eligible to apply for any of these apprentice posts. This recruitment is strictly for ITI, Diploma, and basic Graduate degree holders.

Selection Process: Merit is Everything!

There is no exam or interview. A merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks you scored in your qualifying exam (ITI/Diploma/Graduation). A higher percentage of marks means a better chance of selection.
