About the Recruitment
The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is engaging Act Apprentices to provide training in designated trades as per the Apprentices Act-1961. This notification (No. APP/01/2025-2026) is purely for apprenticeship training and does not guarantee employment in the Railways.

Stipend During Apprenticeship
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as per the following rates:
- Stipend for 10th Pass Freshers: ₹6,000/- per month.
- Stipend for 12th Pass Freshers (MLT): ₹7,000/- per month.
- Stipend for Ex-ITI Candidates: ₹7,000/- per month.
Note: The stipend amount will be increased by 10% during the second year of training.
ICF Apprentice 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must carefully check all eligibility conditions before applying.
Age Limit (as on 11/08/2025)
- Minimum Age: 15 years.
- Maximum Age for Ex-ITI candidates: 24 years.
- Maximum Age for Non-ITI (Fresher) candidates: 22 years.
Age Relaxation Rules
The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories:
- For SC/ST candidates: 5 years.
- For OBC candidates: 3 years.
- For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years.
Educational Qualification for Ex-ITI Candidates
- Should have passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% marks) under the 10+2 system.
- Must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
- For trades like Fitter, Electrician, and Machinist, Science & Maths in Std X is mandatory.
Educational Qualification for Freshers
- Should have passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under the 10+2 system.
- For trades like Fitter, Electrician, and Machinist, Science & Maths in Std X is mandatory.
- For MLT (Radiology & Pathology), candidates must have passed Std XII with Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
Ineligibility of Candidates with Higher Qualifications
Important Note: Candidates with higher qualifications such as a Degree, Diploma, or Engineering Degree are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for this apprenticeship (except for the MLT trade).
Eligibility for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
Vacancies are reserved for PwBD candidates as per government rules. Candidates must submit a valid disability certificate issued by a competent authority to avail the benefits.
ICF Apprentice 2025: Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the ICF Apprentice training will be purely merit-based. There is no written examination or interview.
Merit List Preparation
The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidate in Standard X (10th Class).
Tie-Breaker Criteria
If two candidates have the same marks, the following criteria will be used to decide the merit order:
- The candidate with the older age will be given preference.
- If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the Std X examination earlier will be considered first.
Allotment of Trade
Fresher candidates can provide their choice of trades. The trade will be allotted based on merit and vacancy availability. Once allotted, a trade cannot be changed. Ex-ITI candidates will be trained in the trade for which they hold an ITI certificate.
Medical Examination and Physical Fitness
Selected candidates must produce a Medical Certificate from a government-authorized doctor, confirming they are physically fit for the training as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
Application Fee
The application fee must be paid online during the application process.
- Fee for General and OBC Candidates: ₹100/- + applicable service charges.
- Fee Exemption for SC/ST/PwBD/Women Candidates: No fee is required.
