💡 Understanding the Difference
Both jobs are essential for keeping communication lines open in tough border areas, but they require different skills:
- Head Constable (Radio Operator - RO): You are the voice of the BSF. Your job is to operate radio equipment, send and receive coded messages, and keep detailed communication records. This role needs excellent hearing, clear speech, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. This is why you'll have an extra "Dictation Test."

The 3-Phase Selection Process: Your Roadmap to Success
Getting into the BSF is a tough challenge. You must clear all three of these stages in order.
Phase 1: Physical Standard & Efficiency Test (PST & PET)
This is the first filter. You first need to meet the minimum physical standards (like height and chest measurement). If you do, you'll move on to the physical efficiency tests. This is a pass/fail stage; your performance here won't be added to your final score, but you must pass.

Phase 3: Final Checks (Documents, Skill Test & Medical)
