RRB Technician Recruitment 2025: Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the prescribed qualifications as of the closing date of application (28.07.2025).

For Technician Grade I Signal

• A Bachelor of Science in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / IT / Instrumentation from a recognised University/Institute.
• OR B.Sc. in a combination of any sub-streams of the above.
• OR a Three-year Diploma in Engineering in the above basic streams.
• OR a Degree in Engineering in the above basic streams.

For Technician Grade III

• Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI from a recognised institution of NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trades specified in the detailed notification.
• OR Matriculation/SSLC plus completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trades.

A separate CBT will be conducted for each pay level.

For Technician Grade I Signal (Pay Level-5)

• Total Duration: 90 minutes
• Total Questions: 100
• Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark for each incorrect answer.
• Subjects & Marks Distribution:
  • General Awareness: 10 Marks
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 15 Marks
  • Basics of Computers and Applications: 20 Marks
  • Mathematics: 20 Marks
