The Office of the Commandant, Home Guards, Rourkela has released the Scheme of Examination for the enrollment of 107 Home Guard (HG) posts in the Rourkela Police District. This notice pertains to the earlier Advertisement Letter No. 43/HGs dated 19.02.2025. 🎯 Selection Process & Exam Scheme
The recruitment is a multi-stage process. Candidates must qualify at each stage to proceed. The total marks for the selection are 80, with an additional 10 bonus marks for the Next of Kin (NOKs) of deceased Home Guards.
1. Odia Language Test (Qualifying)
- Marks: 20
- Duration: 30 Minutes
- Pattern: Write a paragraph of approx. 400 words in Odia.
- Note: Candidates must score at least 60% in this test to be eligible for the next stage.
2. OMR-Based Written Examination
- Marks: 40
- Duration: 60 Minutes (1 hour)
- Pattern: Objective-type MCQs.
- Syllabus: Basic Odia grammar, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and topics related to Rourkela/Odisha (at Fifth-grade standard).
- Negative Marking: There is no negative marking.
3. Physical Standards Measurement (Qualifying)
Candidates must meet the following minimum physical standards:

4. Medical Examination (Qualifying)

General duty candidates will take the Physical Efficiency Test, while those with specific skills will undergo a Trade Test.
- Physical Test Event: 2 km Walk (Marks awarded based on time taken).
- Trade/Skill Test: Practical/theory test for skills like Driving, Cooking, Masonry, etc.
6. Personal Interview (Viva-Voce)
- Marks: 20
- Objective: To assess the candidate's personality, responsibility, and suitability for police-related work.
7. Bonus Marks
- Marks: 10 (Extra)
- Eligibility: For the legal heirs (NOKs) of Home Guards who died while in service, upon submission of valid proof.
